Ice Age is a dynamic building game, with a mix of survival aspects and real time strategy. The terrain you play on is constantly moving and your settlement will get destroyed when the ice reaches it. You have to watch out that you keep track of every clansmen and their needs, so that your population doesn’t starve or freeze to death. Because of the continuous advancing environment you have to build new shelters regularly from the resources you gather in the randomly generated terrain. You need certain continuity to keep your tribe alive and still advance in technology and population. Going through the ages and overcoming different obstacles is essential, so that you can make it till the different endings of the game and let your tribe survive the Ice Age.
Singleplayer: You are given the control over your own tribe and send out your clansmen to gather, build and fight. The glaciers constantly force you to move forward to find new randomly generated terrain where your tribe has to rebuild their shelters once in a while. Grow your population to gather more resources and build bigger and more powerful buildings that let you improve your tools and help you survive the cold and several challenges that you have to master. Go through the ages and meet other tribes that you can either help or fight to make your passage free on your journey towards the equator. There are several ways to escape the ice, which one will you choose?
Multiplayer: Play together with other tribal leaders or fight against them so that your tribe is the one to survive.
- Cooperative: You play together with one tribe and can coordinate your actions better than alone, giving you the chance to increase the games difficulty in the way you like.
- Competitive: Everyone has his own tribe and starts a little bit apart from each other. While the time advances you are given more and more chances to interact and make your neighbors lives harder, till the land tongues merge eventually.
